50% - 20 hours per week
Leads IT driven system level change efforts, and participates in and/or leads activities to achieve project tasks and meet deadlines:
• Works with IT developers, architects, DBAs, managers, CTO, and/or CIO to design on-premise and cloud infrastructure system solutions that meet the agency’s requirements.
• Plans, creates, administers, and manages Department cloud resources including (but not limited to) Azure resources and resource groups; load balancers; application gateways; Service Fabric; key and secrets management, certificates/security, and digital key vault; resource and VM templates; storage accounts and groups; reserved instances; Azure App Services; CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous delivery) pipelines with Azure DevOps; application security via Security Dashboard, security score and problem identification and remediation; and application and performance monitoring.
• In partnership with the state enterprise IT team, plans, creates, administers, and manages Department on-premise resources including (but not limited to) Windows and Linux virtual machines; storage; and networks.
• Ensures system designs comply with current Department and state IT policies and procedures.
40% - 16 hours per week
Monitors and maintains system infrastructure and applications:
• Responds to and remediates issues and alerts generated by monitoring tools or the state enterprise IT team on both cloud (Azure) and on-premise infrastructure (servers, storage, network).
• Act as the primary point-of-contact, technical specialist, and/or knowledge expert for specific third-party products (e.g. SAS) as assigned by the supervisor. Act as a backup resource for other products.
• Implement and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security baselines and system configurations.
• Support DNS infrastructure, ensuring reliable name resolution across hybrid cloud and on premise environments.
• Manages SSL/TLS certificates, including installation, configuration, renewal, and troubleshooting across web and application servers
•
• Respond to and remediate system infrastructure related tickets in the state’s ticketing system (ServiceNow). Submit and escalate tickets to the state enterprise IT team and collaborate on solutions.
• Prepare clear and concise reports documenting technical information for technical incidents or root cause analysis.
• Works with vendors, other specialists and/or agencies to solve integration problems.
5% - 2 hours per week
Training
• With the supervisor, creates and follows a professional development plan.
• Maintains and updates job related skills using available resources, including (but not limited to) online training provided by the Department and partner agencies or companies; relevant books, articles, webinars, forums, and conferences; or other resources deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
• Shares acquired knowledge with peers and co-workers, in both informal (one-on-one, team meetings) and structured settings (trainings, mentorships, etc.) as appropriate. Plans and conducts formal mentorship activities for peers and/or lower-level staff via verbal instruction or technical documentation.
5% - 2 hours per week

-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current it policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
