Overview
GovCIO is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Linux System Administrator with an active Secret clearance to join our Operations team. This exciting opportunity involves working with cutting-edge technology in a fully remote capacity within the United States.
Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with team members to effectively address vulnerabilities on Linux-based systems, implement STIGs, manage POAMs, and resolve Zero-Day vulnerabilities. Your standard Linux administration expertise will also be crucial. Key responsibilities include:
Providing senior-level administration for RedHat Linux servers, with knowledge of other distributions, such as Ubuntu and CentOS being valuable.
Maintaining and administering a RedHat Satellite server.
Demonstrating a solid understanding of system administration tasks, package management (RPM, Yum), and the modules building process.
Implementing effective logging solutions.
Executing vulnerability remediation activities.
Creating scripts and software to automate production systems using languages such as Bash, Perl, Ruby, or Python, with proficiency in relevant libraries and functions.
Exhibiting advanced skills in Linux System Administration, Configuration, and Security.
Troubleshooting complex system issues effectively.
Communicating clearly and efficiently, both in writing and verbally.
Paying strong attention to detail and displaying effective problem-solving capabilities.
Working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in Linux System Security, including applying updates and addressing vulnerabilities is required (or equivalent experience). An active Secret Clearance is mandatory, along with the ability to obtain and maintain DEA suitability.
A current REAL ID is necessary for access to required customer facilities and systems.

Posted Salary Range
The salary range for this position is USD $115,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 per year. The actual base pay offered may vary based on individual factors, including location, job-related expertise, and experience.
