Join Meta as a Production Engineer (PE) and play a key role in our software engineering team to build the vital infrastructure supporting Meta's revolutionary products and services. As a PE at Meta, you'll collaborate with teams across various products such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus, as well as core backend services like Storage, Cache, and Networking. In Production Engineering, you'll face unique technical challenges in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment.
Responsibilities:
Take charge of back-end services, manage fleets, support front-end applications like WhatsApp and Instagram, and enhance the infrastructure components that drive Meta's AI initiatives.
Produce and review high-quality code, create comprehensive documentation, and resolve intricate debugging issues in real-time across some of the largest systems globally.
Participate in an on-call rotation with your team, serving as an escalation point for service-related incidents.
Work alongside top engineers on groundbreaking projects; the code you write will directly impact billions of users worldwide.
Minimum Qualifications:
6+ years of experience with *nix (Linux or UNIX-like OS) and a strong foundational understanding of networking principles.
6+ years of professional coding experience with industry-standard programming languages (Java, Python, C++, PHP/Hack, Rust, Go).
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software, frameworks, and APIs.
Experience in capacity planning for internet service architecture and rapid resource scaling.
Familiarity with web technologies and internet service architectures such as LAMP/MEAN stacks, CDN, and load balancing techniques.
Skilled in configuring and managing infrastructure applications such as Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS or MS in Computer Science.
Compensation:
$154,000/year to $217,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits.
