We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead our engineering teams in transforming the Employee Benefits application landscape. This role is hands-on and requires partnership with business value streams to drive outcomes in a multi-year transformational program.

As a successful candidate, you will showcase strong technical and leadership capabilities, exceptional collaboration skills, and a proven track record of delivering quality technical solutions while executing a strategic vision to ensure systems are stable, performant, secure, and scalable. Key Responsibilities:

Develop applications using Java and J2EE technologies, including Micro Services, JMS, XML, JSON, and JDBC, as well as Web Services (SOAP and REST) with Java Spring Boot or Apache Camel.

Lead the implementation of standards and best practices for deploying applications in AWS, designing reusable architectures and services to enhance development velocity across agile teams.

Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient software architecture patterns in the cloud, adhering to industry standards, including multi-region support and fault tolerance.

Employ a shift-left approach for security, testing, and performance throughout the development cycle, embodying a full-stack engineering mindset.

Utilize tools such as Sonar, unit testing frameworks, and generative AI tools (Copilot) for application and infrastructure development.

Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation templates, YAML files, and Python Lambda functions to fully automate the build and release process for AWS resources.

Possess hands-on expertise with Amazon Web Services, covering technologies like Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS, RDS, DMS, S3, and more.

Apply knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices with tool chains including GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Implement proactive monitoring and observability solutions to predict and detect abnormal system behaviors, enabling timely alerts to prevent system impacts.

Mentor junior Cloud and Software Engineers.

Communicate new ideas and improvement topics effectively to leadership and team members.

Maintain clear and professional communication, both in writing and orally.

Experience with AWS Flink is a plus. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or relevant Engineering field.

10+ years of hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, including Java Web Services, JMS, JSP, and related technologies.

5+ years of experience in software architecture and systems design.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as CloudFormation or Terraform.

Strong foundation in software development principles.

Comprehensive knowledge of AWS related to application development, AWS certifications are advantageous.

Effective communication skills across all organizational levels, with the ability to influence leadership.

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate business and technical requirements.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with a requirement to work in the office three days a week.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation: The listed annualized base pay range is based on market analysis for similar positions. Actual pay may vary based on performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package, which may also include bonuses and long-term incentives. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$126,160 - $189,240
