We are seeking a passionate Computer Programmer dedicated to enhancing aviation safety and operational analytics through cutting-edge technology modernization initiatives. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain advanced software solutions, algorithms, and visualizations that support data-driven decision-making in the National Airspace System (NAS).
The right candidate is experienced in computer programming, data analysis, and software development, especially within aviation or complex technical environments. This position is vital for engineering, analytics, and technical planning, applying advanced computational methods to boost safety, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Implementing computer programming and analytical techniques to develop software solutions that enhance aviation safety and operational analysis.
Creating engaging dashboards, data visualizations, and analytics tools to support FAA decision-making and program reporting.
Conducting text mining, data extraction, and data integration to derive valuable technical, safety, or operational insights.
Utilizing advanced simulation environments, laboratories, and test facilities to create and implement software solutions.
Collaborating on engineering, technical, and analytical teams, providing expertise, and contributing to technical planning processes.
Applying your knowledge of computer science, programming principles, and mathematical methods to solve complex aviation or technical challenges.
Ensuring all developed solutions meet FAA, federal, and organizational standards for quality, safety, and operational integrity.
Preparing comprehensive documentation, reports, and presentations to clearly communicate findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen or Green Card Permanent Resident (3+ years U.S. Residency)
Experience within the FAA environment.
Education and Experience:
Doctorate in Computer Science, Programming, Engineering, or related fields with 10+ years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience; or
Bachelor's degree with 17+ years of relevant experience. 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
Demonstrated expertise in software development, algorithm implementation, and data visualization.
Experience with text mining, data analytics, and programming languages such as Python, R, Java, C++, or similar.
Proven ability to apply computational methods to complex, safety-critical, or technical systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Preferred experience in aviation, aerospace, or other heavily regulated technical environments.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with FAA programs, NAS operations, or aviation safety analytics.
Understanding of software development best practices, version control, and collaborative development environments.
Knowledge of data engineering, machine learning, or AI/ML applications in aviation or operational contexts.
Experience in integrating software solutions with dashboards, visualization tools, and operational analytics platforms.
Familiarity with state-of-the-art simulation and test facilities utilized in aviation or aerospace research.

Salary Range:
USD $127,100.00 - USD $198,575.00 /Yr.
