In this position, you will be engaged in essential hardware and network diagnostics, conducting physical repairs, and participating in an on-call rotation. AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating the entire AWS global infrastructure, effectively keeping the cloud running. You will work alongside a diverse team comprising software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and more. NOTE: A lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Perform server rack installations, conduct hardware repairs, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents affecting service availability.

Serve as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers and vendors.

Participate in on-call duties and scheduled maintenance and change management activities.

Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on operational insights.

Assist in interviewing, training, and on-boarding new team members.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting and moving materials weighing up to 40 pounds.

Working in confined or elevated spaces.

Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching as needed.

Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.

Safely ascending and descending ladders and stairs.

Working in an industrial environment with shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations.

This role may involve training at various established sites until your assigned facility is operational.

Essential Requirements:

Ability to travel or commute between data center locations as necessary.

Willingness to work at alternative locations during training periods.

Travel frequency may vary based on business requirements.

Must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute under 50 miles to active data center sites as required.

Displaying strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Identifying root causes and understanding the broader context of issues.

Maintaining service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.

Acting decisively in the absence of direction.

Delivering improvements through process innovation.

You will be required to work flexible shifts that include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Basic Qualifications:

1+ years of computer networking experience.

1+ years of experience with Linux operating systems.

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience in computer networking and hardware troubleshooting.

Ability to lift and rack equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient in working within confined spaces or elevated locations while following health and safety guidelines.

Experience managing customer interactions during issue resolution.

Experience using a ticketing system to manage work and priorities.

Knowledge of cabling infrastructure best practices.

Experience in data center environments including racking and stacking gear, cable management, and hot/cold aisle containment.

The base salary range for this position is as follows: Covington, GA - $29.00 - $52.00 USD hourly; Sparks, NV - $29.00 - $52.00 USD hourly; New Albany, OH - $29.00 - $52.00 USD hourly; Ashburn, VA - $29.00 - $52.00 USD hourly; Manassas, VA - $29.00 - $52.00 USD hourly.
