Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the routine maintenance, repair, and optimization of commercial boiler systems and associated equipment. You will ensure system reliability, enforce safety protocols, and build strong, professional relationships with our customers.
What You’ll Do:
• As a Preventative Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining boiler systems and associated equipment, repairing or replacing malfunctioning components, enforcing and following safety protocols, and building and maintaining solid relationships with our customers.
• Perform routine boiler and pump preventative maintenance program.
• Conduct analysis of proprietary Teal operating systems, electrical systems, and Raypak controls.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and adjust static, dynamic, and manifold natural gas/propane pressures.
• Perform CO2/NOx combustion analysis on boilers and make corrective adjustments or repairs.
• Conduct routine PM inspections and make necessary repairs, as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of boiler room and equipment.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Conduct yearly combustion testing and wet side inspections.
• Troubleshoot high voltage (120V) and low voltage (24) systems.
• Maintain high safety consciousness.
• Work independently and stay motivated while working alone on various projects.
• Deliver high level customer service and maintain professional behavior when dealing with customers and staff.
• Prioritize work and succeed under deadlines while working on various projects.
• Have availability to work flexible hours and on call duty (one week, every 6-8 weeks) and occasional travel, overtime, weekends, and holidays, when required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Technical Certificate, Factory Raypak training and/or Journeyman license plumber preferred
• Two to five years’ experience in the boiler service field preferred
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job which includes bending, lifting heavy equipment and parts, and working in confined spaces
• Must maintain good driving record
• Proficiency using computer, ticketing systems and cell phone technology
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
