Information Technology Supervisor 1 Position Overview
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is seeking an Information Technology Supervisor 1 to support our mission of empowering Ohioans with disabilities through timely, reliable, and user focused technology services. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated IT support team whose work helps OOD staff deliver meaningful services across the state.
In this role you will supervise IT professionals who provide help desk operations, inventory control, and end user support. You will guide daily activities, stay aware of workload demands, and help maintain strong service quality. This includes coaching employees, completing performance evaluations, supporting professional development, and assisting with hiring and onboarding new team members.
You will oversee service desk workflows in ServiceNow, offer advanced escalation support, and coordinate coverage to ensure that technology issues are addressed promptly and securely. The role also involves coordinating field and onboarding support. This includes planning site visits for hardware replacement and ticket resolution, ensuring new hire equipment is prepared for orientation, partnering with regional staff to address local technology needs, and traveling to field locations when needed.
You will contribute to agency operations by offering procurement guidance, maintaining technical documentation and job aids, updating content on internal platforms such as SharePoint, and coordinating IT needs for events. You will analyze user needs, support updates to automated information systems, and help ensure IT standards are followed.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience supervising and developing staff. You will need a solid understanding of general office practices, as well as the ability to use computer applications and maintain accurate records. Strong reasoning and problem solving abilities are important, including defining issues, gathering information, evaluating options, and making sound decisions while managing many variables. Success in this role also relies on your ability to organize and prioritize work, process information efficiently, and respond to sensitive inquiries with professionalism. In addition, you should bring technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, security concepts, along with the ability to analyze workflows, understand technical information, and support continuous improvement in IT service delivery.

Our services include strategic planning, project management, business requirements gathering, development, quality assurance testing, help desk support, security, database design and implementation, systems support and operations.
Pay Information
Starting salary will be step 1, subject to law or union contract requirements. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. There are cost of living increases to these rates each year and additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.

Location Requirements
Our roles are primarily in-office to encourage collaboration and connection, however some locations may have adjusted on-site requirements based on space availability at this time. Reporting details will be provided by the supervisor before the start date. Employees must reside at a location that allows for reasonable response time to workplace reporting requirements.
Daytime travel within Ohio may be required. The selected candidate must provide own transportation or, in order to operate a state vehicle, must have a valid driver’s license.
