Duties
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop precise estimates.
Utilize estimating software such as Xactimate to prepare detailed cost analyses and proposals.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information.
Conduct site visits to develop project scopes of work, logistics, and potential challenges that influence cost estimates.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
Prepare comprehensive bid packages that include material costs, labor estimates, equipment needs.
Monitor project budgets during execution to ensure cost controls are in place and identify potential variances to the original estimate.
Qualifications
Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management processes.
10+ years’ experience in estimating/insurance restoration work is required.
Proficiency in estimating tools such as Xactimate is required.
Solid knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, and project management principles.
Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing terms with vendors and subcontractors.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost evaluation and risk assessment.
Must be able to complete roof inspections.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with a diverse TEAM, customers, and insurance adjusters.
TPA experience is highly recommended.
