AML Compliance Associate

Job Description

About the Role:

The AML Compliance Associate is part of the Risk and Oversight Compliance team and ensures adherence to internal policies, financial service laws, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

As an online money transmitter operating in regulated markets, the company maintains a comprehensive Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), and Fraud Investigations program. This role focuses on investigating transaction monitoring cases, chargebacks, and internal referrals, as well as preparing regulatory filings for suspicious activities.

This position is based in Mandaluyong, Philippines.

Key Responsibilities:

Investigate suspicious and high-risk customer activities related to AML, CTF, and fraud

Review escalations from internal teams and third-party AML investigators

Conduct complex investigations and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) when necessary

Identify trends and patterns linked to money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraudulent transactions

Suggest updates to transaction monitoring rules and process improvements

Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures

Collaborate with Customer Service, Compliance, Legal, Product, and third-party AML teams

Assist in training and oversight of third-party AML investigations

Perform other ad hoc compliance-related duties as required

Qualifications (Non-Negotiable):

Minimum 6 months of experience investigating unusual or suspicious activity

Experience analyzing transactional behavior and determining regulatory reporting requirements

Experience working in a compliance-driven environment

Fluency in written and spoken English

Preferred / Advantage:

Experience filing regulatory AML, CTF, or Fraud reports

Direct experience in fintech or financial services industries

Proficiency in a second language (Hebrew, Portuguese, and/or Japanese)

Experience escalating unusual patterns for risk mitigation
