Setting: Neuro ICU – 14 North, University Hospital (neurocritical care unit)

Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse position)

Start Date: April 20, 2026

End Date: July 20, 2026

Duration: 13 weeks

Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

On-Call: Required

Patient Ratio: 1:1–2 (neurocritical care RN ratios)

Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Electronic Health Record: Epic (Epic EHR experience preferred)

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940–$2,040

Neuro ICU RN Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU or neurocritical care experience (required)

Active RN license (compact RN or Ohio state RN license required at submission) — Ohio nursing jobs applicants welcome

Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program

Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS (required)

Clinical skills: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, EVD management

Experience with arterial/central lines, blood products, and titration of vasoactive drips

Epic EHR experience preferred; travel nursing experience preferred

Must provide two professional references (one from a manager/director or supervisor)

Immunizations: Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Primary Responsibilities — Neurocritical Care & ICU Nursing

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with complex neurological conditions: ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular disorders, and post-op neurosurgery patients

Monitor and manage patients requiring invasive neuromonitoring (EVD, ICP monitoring), ventilator support, and advanced neuro assessments

Initiate and maintain IVs, manage arterial and central lines, administer blood products, and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips

Perform and support bedside procedures and provide post-operative neurosurgical nursing care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including neurology, neurosurgery, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Maintain precise documentation using Epic EHR and comply with infection prevention/isolation protocols

Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed and participate in on-call coverage
