Job Title: Electrical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to develop comprehensive technical training plans and content for Station Engineering.
This role involves creating training programs that range from entry-level tasks to advanced line engineering tasks in substation physical design.
Responsibilities * Develop detailed technical training plans and content for Station Engineering.
* Provide engineering for substation capital projects.
* Complete grounding, lightning shielding, and lighting studies.
* Prepare station configuration and layouts.
* Collaborate with project planners to develop substation solutions.
* Develop station project functional and detail scoping documents with all project stakeholders.
* Assist project managers in the development and maintenance of station engineering activities within Primavera P6 project schedules.
* Oversee work performed by internal designers or consulting engineering firms on select projects.
* Support construction and professional field service personnel to resolve issues during the construction phase of projects.
* Prepare project construction documents, including plan and profile drawings, design drawings, and engineering specifications.
* Communicate effectively to ensure on-schedule and on-budget project performance.
* Develop design alternatives and cost estimates for proposed projects.
* Work with internal and external customers, government and regulatory agencies, and contractors to secure permits and refine design alternatives.
* Monitor project expenditures and schedules.
* Conduct bid and construction meetings as needed.
* Function as a Lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) on multiple topics, providing leadership and training to personnel.
Essential Skills * 4-6 or more years of related engineering experience.
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
* Experience and knowledge of Station Engineering.
* Knowledge of NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) and current industry standards.
* Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Ability to become proficient in new software applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications * Competence with AutoCAD is desired.
* Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S.
state is encouraged and preferred.
Work Environment This is an onsite position located in Roanoke, New Albany, or Tulsa.
The work schedule offers flexibility with options for a 40-hour work week, either 4x10-hour days or 5x8-hour days.
No overtime is expected.
While there may be potential site visits, overnight travel is not anticipated.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
