Description:

This position is for an entry level engineer desiring to become an expert on rotating equipment. A person that is willing to provide start-up, maintenance, installation technical services along with mechanical and aerodynamic troubleshooting on fans, blowers silencers, dampers, motors and VFD’s. This position will lead to future career paths in engineering, manufacturing and sales at a private family-owned company that has been continuously in business since 1889 .

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Support the erection, inspection and start-up of large industrial fan and blower air moving systems primarily in North America in many industries including metals, biomass, food, petrochemical, power, wastewater, nuclear, process, and mining industries.

· Perform the alignment of shafts, installation of roller and sleeve bearings, shaft seals, start-up of instrumentation and control systems, actuators, dampers, silencers, motors, VFD’s, and lubrication units.

· Troubleshoot air moving systems for mechanic, noise and aerodynamic problems and provide solutions.

· Become proficient in aerodynamic and mechanical testing and diagnostics equipment.

· Provide instruction and training to plant personnel.

· Provide feedback to sales about all opportunities for business at customer’s sites.

· Perform testing and development work in the New York Blower test facilities located in New Castle, PA and LaPorte, IN.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

You will need to travel approximately 75% of the time. The ability to use aerodynamic, mechanical, and electrical measurement analysis tools and programs. A BA/BS technical degree is desired.
