Position Summary
Living Hope Eating Disorder Treatment Center (EDTC) is seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary treatment team. The Physician Assistant will play a critical role in the medical evaluation, diagnosis support, and ongoing care of individuals receiving treatment for eating disorders across levels of care, including Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Outpatient services. The PA collaborates closely with the supervising physician, therapists,registered dietitians, nursing staff, and program leadership to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care that supports medical stability and long-term recovery.
Essential Responsibilities
Medical Assessment and Treatment
Conduct medical evaluations for patients admitted to PHP, IOP, or outpatient services under physician supervision. Assist in identifying and managing medical complications related to eating disorders including malnutrition and electrolyte imbalances. Support development and implementation of individualized medical treatment plans. Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies as clinically indicated within scope of practice. Monitor patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising physician and treatment team.
Multidisciplinary CollaborationWork closely with the supervising physician, therapists, registered dietitians, and nursing staff to coordinate patient care. Participate in treatment team meetings and clinical staffing. Provide medical insight regarding patient safety and level-of-care considerations. Support continuity of care with referring providers and outside medical professionals.
Patient and Family Education
Educate patients and families on the medical implications of eating disorders. Provide guidance on medical stability, recovery, and healthy nutritional rehabilitation under physician supervision.
Documentation and Compliance
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation. Participate in insurance peer reviews when necessary to support appropriate levels of care. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including the Joint Commission and applicable state regulations.
Program Support and Leadership
Support program development and quality improvement initiatives. Participate in community outreach and education efforts when requested.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Active Physician
Assistant license in the State of Oklahoma (or eligibility). Current NCCPA certification.
Experience treating eating disorders or behavioral health populations preferred.
Experience in PHP, IOP, or outpatient behavioral health settings preferred.
Work Environment
Living Hope EDTC provides specialized eating disorder treatment through structured programs, including Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Outpatient services, and telehealth treatment options. The Physician Assistant works closely with a collaborative clinical team dedicated to supporting recovery through medical, nutritional, and psychological care.
