2026 Data Research Internship

Community Bridges is a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving individuals with developmental disabilities in Concord, NH and the Lakes Region. Community Bridges offers internships to students, graduate students, and recent graduates with demonstrated interest or experience in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Each internship includes an educational component, through which interns contextualize their experience and reflect on their service.

All internships are unpaid and correspond roughly with the US semester system.

Summer Internship: June 2026 – August 2026

Fall Internship: September 2026 – December 2026

First consideration is given to applicants that can commit at least 16 hours per week over the course of the semester outlined above. Applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of whether their schedule fits the semester system; Community Bridges makes exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Slots fill quickly and candidates are encouraged to apply earlier than the requested date above.

Please note that this internship will be a hybrid format, meaning that some in-person hours at our Concord, NH office are required.

Data Research Internship Overview

The Data Research Intern will work closely with Community Bridges NH START (NH Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Resource, & Treatment) program to assist with gathering, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitate data. Data collection and maintenance will inform internal projects, which this intern will also assist with. This internship will provide experience with research design, surveys, data tools, and communication of findings through reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

Conduct data collection by compiling information from internal systems, surveys, public datasets, and other designated sources according to project guidelines

Complete outreach to stakeholders as part of data collection

Clean and organize data sets to prepare them for analysis

Assist with qualitative literary scans and survey feedback, summarizing key findings

Conduct data analysis and present findings via spreadsheets, PowerPoint, internal program documentation, or other analytical tools

Aid in building and updating simple dashboards, charts, and tables for internal reports or presentations, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistent formatting

Participate in team meetings, share progress updates, and incorporate feedback from supervisor

Other projects and duties as assigned and dependent upon intern's educational goals

Required Skills/Abilities

Interest in data entry and research

Interest in advocacy and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities

Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and data tools

Ability to work respectfully in a multicultural environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to summarize qualitative and quantitative findings precisely

Highly organized with great attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple tasks and to switch gears quickly

Professional, discretion, and maturity in dealing with confidential information

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Knowledge of Canva, Wufoo, JotForms, and/or SurveyMonkey a plus

Learning Objectives

Describe how data research and analysis can positively impact non-profit programming

Apply basic data cleaning and preparation techniques to produce analysis-ready datasets and presentations

Conduct and interpret basic descriptive analyses and communicate insights in clear, non-technical language adaptable to various audiences

Create simple visual aids that accurately represent data and avoid misleading design choices

Demonstrate responsible data practices, including respect for privacy, security, and ethical use of data, and recognize when to escalate questions or concerns for confidentiality

Accurately document qualitative and quantitative data in a clear, objective, and organized manner

Respectfully express and engage ideas and values in a multicultural, neurodivergent space
