A contract opportunity is available for two Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) to support Extended School Year (ESY) services within Bucks County, Pennsylvania. These roles provide vital communication access for students with hearing impairments across multiple school locations, with central coordination through the main office in Doylestown, PA. Staffing is planned for the summer of 2025, with instruction starting June 29 and concluding July 30, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation for students with moderate to severe needs in classroom and related service settings.
Collaborate with educators and related service providers to support communication access.
Maintain consistent attendance during scheduled ESY days, Monday through Thursday, with student hours approximately 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Adapt to varying schedules and assignments, including itinerant positions in Lower and Central Bucks areas.
Qualifications:
Must possess active Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Sign Language Interpreter credential.
Ability to commit fully to the ESY schedule and attend related service orientation sessions.
Reliable transportation and residence within a 35-minute commute of assigned school sites.
Prior experience working with students who have moderate to severe disabilities and behaviors is strongly preferred.
Successful completion of a supervisor reference (no coworkers) is required.
Candidates must have a minimum one-year break from any previous agency assignment with the client.
Additional Information:
Hours per week vary depending on location, averaging about 24 weekly.
Assignments and caseloads will be finalized by late May to early June.
