Akkodis is seeking an AWS Engineer for a Contract with a client in New York, NY.
This role requires a highly skilled AWS Engineer capable of delivering secure and reliable cloud infrastructure while leading critical platform release activities.
Rate Range: $53/hour to $55/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
AWS Engineer job responsibilities include: * Own AWS platform release management across environments, including validation, regression checks, change documentation, and readiness reviews.
* Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (or CloudFormation), enforcing reusable modules, guardrails, and drift detection.
* Manage AMI lifecycle and OS hardening, including image building, patching strategies, vulnerability remediation, and golden image governance.
* Operate and evolve core AWS services (EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, KMS, Route 53, ALB/NLB, S3/EBS/EFS, RDS/Aurora/DynamoDB) with a focus on security, reliability, and scalability.
* Implement end-to-end observability and incident response, maintaining production visibility (logs/metrics/traces), SLO/SLI tracking, and root-cause analysis for app and infrastructure issues.
* Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Harness a plus) to automate deployments, compliance checks, and environment promotions while improving release velocity and stability.
Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
* 10+ years of experience in SRE, Cloud Operations, or DevOps with extensive AWS hands-on expertise.
* Strong proficiency in AWS compute, networking, storage, and database services with proven end to end troubleshooting capability.
* Expert-level experience with Terraform (or CloudFormation) for Infrastructure as Code and managing AMI pipelines, patching, and OS hardening.
