A contract opportunity is available for skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support Extended School Year (ESY) programs in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. These positions provide essential communication access for students with hearing impairments, facilitating effective educational experiences across various school sites.
Location: Positions primarily serve sites in Doylestown and other nearby cities within Bucks County. Candidates must reside within 35 minutes of the assigned school location to ensure reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide qualified sign language interpreting services to students during ESY sessions
Collaborate with educators and related service staff to support inclusive classroom environments
Adapt communication methods to meet the needs of students with moderate to severe disabilities and varied behaviors
Maintain professional standards in alignment with Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requirements
Participate in orientation and related services setup as scheduled prior to instruction dates
Commit to the full ESY schedule, with instructional days Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (hours may vary based on location and role)
Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania Department of Education Sign Language Interpreter certification or licensure meeting PDE SLI requirements
Proven experience interpreting in educational or related settings, preferably with populations requiring moderate to severe support
Reliable transportation and residence within a 35-minute commute to assigned school site
Availability to work ESY dates from June 29 to July 30, 2026
Strong teamwork and communication skills, capable of collaborating with educational staff and families
Willingness to undergo screening to confirm understanding of credentialing processes, commitment to full schedule, and readiness to work with diverse student needs
Additional Information: Candidates who have worked with this client through another agency within the past year are not eligible for placement. A minimum one-year separation is required before re-engagement through a different agency.
This position offers approximately 24 hours per week, with specific hours varying by location and role. Daily instructional schedules and classroom assignments will be communicated in late May to early June.
