Description:

Provide expert sign language interpretation services in educational settings during an Extended School Year (ESY) program in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. These contract roles support students with moderate to severe communication needs and are designed for skilled Sign Language Interpreters who are credentialed according to Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation services to students in school environments.

Adapt communication methods to meet the needs of individual students, including those with moderate to severe behavioral challenges.

Collaborate with educators and related service staff to support inclusive classroom experiences.

Commit to the full ESY instructional schedule from June 29 to July 30, 2026, Monday through Thursday, with student hours typically from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Participate in orientation and setup sessions prior to the program start date.

Qualifications and Experience:

Active Pennsylvania DOE Sign Language Interpreter licensure meeting PDE SLI requirements.

Proven experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably with students requiring moderate to severe support.

Reliable transportation and residence within a 35-minute commute of assigned school sites within Bucks County.

Ability to commit to all scheduled hours and days, adhering to attendance and punctuality expectations.

Completion of a supervisory reference (minimum rating 3.5 if applicable).

Understanding of the PA DOE credentialing timeline and requirements.

Flexibility to accept placement based on student needs and site availability within the Bucks County Intermediate Unit 22 service area.

Locations and Schedule:

Positions are based in the Lower and Central Bucks County areas with variable hours, approximately 24 hours per week.

The client's main office is located in Doylestown, PA, but assignments may be in surrounding cities.

Days: Monday through Thursday during the ESY session with specific classroom assignments provided prior to the start date.
