Set up, operate, observe and maintain one or more centerless grinding machine to produce precision parts.

May be required to operate and observe thru-feed machines.

Will be required to measure and inspect parts Location: Newington, CT Reports to: Production Supervisor Essential Duties & Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform.

* Determine the appropriate tools and equipment needed to perform a job * Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers * Read blueprints and job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and plan operational sequences * Set-up and start machines, pull handles, use part fixtures, etc.

or use other means to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms, etc.

* Manually position, adjust and secure stock material or work pieces against stops, in fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms * Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the grinding process * Observe the machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions; adjust machines as necessary * Inspect work pieces for defects and measure work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation using micrometers, gages, templates or other measuring instruments * Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling or cleaning machines, adding coolant to machine reservoirs, etc.

* Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.

* Participate in training as required * 5-10% Domestic Travel required Requirements: * Must be a "US Person" as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.

* High School Diploma or GED required * 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment * Troubleshoot causes of operating errors and determine appropriate actions.

* Operate/monitor gauges, dials or other indicators to ensure machine is working properly.

* Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level * Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions * Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
