Responsibilities & Qualifications The TekSynap is seeking a Database Administrator to join our team at DON Office of Administration National Capital Region (NCR) to p rovide enterprise database administration support for Oracle and Microsoft SQL systems supporting DON OA applications and services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience * 5+ years Oracle and Microsoft SQL DBA experience Clearance * Top Secret Clearance RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide enterprise database administration for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting DON OA applications.
* Perform routine and advanced DBA functions including performance tuning, backups, recovery, archiving, and patching . * Design, create, modify, and maintain databases to support both legacy and future systems . * Implement and manage automated DBA processes to improve reliability, efficiency, and consistency.
* Ensure database security through access controls, monitoring, and compliance with DoD/DON security requirements . * Support backend database development and integration efforts in coordination with application developers and system engineers.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date database documentation, schemas, and configuration records . * Support data cataloging initiatives by coordinating with Information Owners to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
* Assist with troubleshooting database-related incidents and participate in root cause analysis as required .
