Department Overview:

The Procurement organization leads the procurement of materials and services at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. With a focus on fostering valuable partnerships, the team manages over $12 billion in annual spending to deliver optimal solutions for goods and services. Key services include procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management, along with overall compliance and ongoing support.

Position Summary:

The Principal Program Manager within Procurement Operations plays a crucial role as a strategic partner and operational integrator. You will be responsible for coordinating key initiatives, managing deliverables, facilitating influential meetings, and ensuring timely follow-ups. This role serves as the hub of coordination within Procurement Operations, driving clarity and focus across projects. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and adept at connecting the dots to keep the leadership team aligned with the company's strategic goals.

This position is hybrid, working from a remote office and in Oakland.

Compensation: PG&E provides a comprehensive salary range for this position, which reflects various factors including skills, education, experience, and geographic location. Expected salary range: $144,000 - $194,000. The final offer will depend on a variety of factors and this role is also eligible for discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Reporting Relationship:

The Principal Program Manager will report directly to the Director of Procurement Operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Act as the central coordination point across Procurement Operations, tracking deliverables and aligning various stakeholders while maintaining momentum.

Lead Operating Reviews for Procurement Operations.

Synthesize complex information into executive-ready materials such as presentations and dashboards that facilitate informed decision-making.

Facilitate recurring meetings for both teams and leadership, setting agendas and ensuring actionable follow-ups.

Drive collaboration among stakeholders in Contract Operations, Sourcing Operations, and Contract Administration to ensure procurement initiatives align with wider enterprise goals.

Attend meetings in place of the Director as needed.

Support the creation of high-level presentations for senior leadership, Board meetings, etc.

Prepare various correspondence, presentations, and reports to ensure clear communication.

Manage significant cross-functional projects and initiatives as required.

Develop program goals and performance metrics to support company objectives, ensuring alignment across the organization.

Leverage resources from other departments to meet program goals effectively.

Organize and lead cross-utility project teams to influence decisions in the utility, regulatory, or industry sectors.

Tackle complex and unique challenges by anticipating issues and crafting innovative solutions.

Incorporate industry knowledge into daily operations and decision-making processes.

Background Qualifications:

Minimum:

10 years of relevant experience or equivalent.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience in business.

Desired:

10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, strategic program management, or consulting.

Master's degree or equivalent business experience.

PMP Certification.

Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Adept at transforming data into compelling narratives for executive audiences.

Skill in utilizing business understanding to drive strategic decisions and recommend operational enhancements.

Proven ability to influence leaders through data insights and recommendations.

Capacity to lead the most significant and complex projects within Procurement.

Ability to construct persuasive business cases based on intricate business environments.

Skillful in addressing issues with diplomacy and tact.
