Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare and Communications is seeking dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for travel healthcare assignments at a state behavioral health facility in Evanston, Wyoming. DSPs provide essential hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and behavioral health needs in a residential treatment setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to residents with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and co-occurring behavioral health conditions
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, and mobility support
- Implement individualized behavior support plans and positive behavioral interventions
- Facilitate community integration activities, recreational programming, and life skills training
- Monitor resident safety, document behavioral observations, and report changes in condition to clinical staff
- Support residents in achieving individualized treatment goals and personal milestones
- Respond to behavioral crises using approved de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and progress notes in the electronic health record
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to person-centered care planning
- Ensure compliance with all state regulations, facility policies, and resident rights protections
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 6 months of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral health conditions, or in a residential care setting
- Valid driver's license
- Current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to pass state and federal background investigation including abuse registry checks
- Physical ability to perform direct care duties including standing, walking, lifting, and responding to emergencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of DSP experience in behavioral health or IDD residential settings
- Wyoming DSP certification or nationally recognized DSP credential
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Mandt System training
- Experience with person-centered planning and positive behavioral supports
- Previous travel healthcare experience
- Familiarity with Wyoming community-based service standards
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $114,000 to $131,000 (travel assignment, all-inclusive compensation package)
