OHB System AG is a large system integrator for space-based solutions in Europe. In the field of defence systems, OHB leads several large-scale projects, including multinational development initiatives. These solutions are trending towards large scale systems-of-systems architectures, which elements that need to interact in real-time. Additionally, integration and interoperability of space-based solutions with air defence systems, the European space and air shield initiatives and national missile defence architectures is a fundamental aspect. OHB is looking to extend its expertise in this area.
One important aspect will be the data exchange between the elements of OHB's projects and external systems. We are currently looking for a Senior System Engineer with heritage in the definition and implementation of data exchange based on NATO standards.
Analyse the external and internal systems' needs, missions needs, and customer requirements
Define information and data that shall be transferred within the system and with external systems based on NATO standards
Derive different solutions for data dissemination within the system and with external systems (e.g. ground based radars, missile defence systems, civil systems)
Negotiate the solutions with other companies
Define architecture options for data dissemination and perform trade studies for ground and space system elements
Specify the selected solution and option preferable in a model-based system engineering approach
Implement one or more possible solutions in a software demonstrator
Write the interface control document for the selected solution and option
Work in an international team of experts from OHB and project partners
Completed studies (Diploma or Master) in aerospace engineering, electronics, software development or equivalent qualification
Ideally several years of professional experience in defence and security systems engineering projects
Ideally several years of experience in the data exchange of active or passive missile defence systems
Strong competence in self-organizing and work planning
High motivation, pro-active working approach, and strong sense of responsibility
Strong competence in working in a multicultural team
Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
Experience with applicable standards and processes (NATO)
Ability and willingness to achieve a German security clearance
Ideally, experience with model-based system engineering (MBSE)
Fluency in both spoken and written English
