Educational Interpreter - Evergreen, AL

We are seeking two full-time Sign Language Interpreters to support K-12 and K-4 students in Evergreen, AL, for the 2023-2024 school year. These onsite positions are contract-based, providing vital communication assistance within the school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and effective American Sign Language interpretation for students and staff.

Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and educators.

Support classroom learning by interpreting during lessons, assemblies, and other school activities.

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure accessible education.

Assist in individual and group settings to foster student engagement and participation.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language with demonstrated interpreting experience.

Experience working with children in educational environments preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work full-time onsite.

Previous school-based interpreting experience is a plus.
