Summary:
Summit Ridge Energy is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern for its Arlington, VA office. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Land Origination team's siting efforts and the Development team's market research initiatives by conducting comprehensive site screening activities.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Diligence potential solar sites for the Land Origination team by evaluating environmental and electrical infrastructure factors using ArcGIS Pro.
• Support the manager in enhancing the Suitable Land Model and improving land screening procedures across all active markets.
• Assist the Development teams permitting and zoning research process when considering project feasibility.
• Collaborate interdepartmentally to review prospective land opportunities in emerging markets
• Complete a research-driven project over the summer and present results at the end of the program.
Required Skills/Competencies:
• Working towards a 4-year degree in Environmental Science, Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Environmental Engineering or related major.
• Prior experience with ArcGIS Pro or ESRI suite products is preferred but not required
• Ability to think creatively in a fast-paced environment, both as part of a team and individually.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Experience in Python is preferred but not required.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
