A school in Bainbridge, GA is seeking an experienced teacher specialized in supporting visually impaired students. This contract position runs from July 31 to May 23 and offers approximately 17 hours per month spread over 3 to 4 days. The position serves K-12 students, providing consultation and direct services to a caseload of about 7 to 8 visually impaired students.
Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students across K-12 grades
Consult with general education teachers, parents, and school staff to support student success
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) focused on visual impairment-related goals
Monitor student progress and adjust services as needed
Provide assistive technology guidance and training related to visual impairment
Document services and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational standards
Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
Demonstrated experience in working with visually impaired K-12 students
Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators and families
Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 7-8 students efficiently
