Key Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure accessible communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
Assist in the development of communication plans tailored to individual student needs
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working in diverse educational settings
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with interpreting best practices
Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language and English, with demonstrated interpreting experience in educational settings
Strong understanding of the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students within school environments
