Educational Interpreter - Crete, Nebraska

A part-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available within a PreK classroom setting, providing essential communication support for young learners. This onsite assignment is located in Lincoln, NE, with a contract lasting until May 22, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate effective communication between PreK students and educators using American Sign Language.

Support classroom instruction by interpreting spoken and signed communication.

Collaborate with teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience for students with hearing impairments.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Attend required meetings and training sessions as needed.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience interpreting in educational environments.

Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification preferred; a PROVISIONAL license is acceptable if EIPA is below 4.0.

Comfort working onsite for 3.75 hours per day in a classroom setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to supporting the learning and inclusion of students with hearing challenges.
