Elementary Special Ed Teacher Columbus, Ohio

A school district in Columbus, OH, is seeking a dedicated Intervention Specialist to support K-1st grade students for the remainder of this academic semester. This contract position focuses on working within an elementary school setting, primarily serving students with Autism. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with a team, including two assigned paraprofessionals, to provide specialized educational support tailored to individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized instruction and interventions to K-1st grade students with Autism.

Collaborate with paraprofessionals to implement effective teaching strategies.

Develop and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet student goals.

Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly.

Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration regarding student development and needs.

Qualifications:

Active Ohio Intervention Specialist License is required.

Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably K-1st grade.

Strong background in special education, particularly with students on the Autism spectrum.

Ability to collaborate with support staff and maintain a positive classroom environment.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
