An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Emergency Room experience to provide critical care at a contract position located in Millinocket, ME. This role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care across all age groups in an emergency department setting. Working in this fast-paced environment requires strong critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to perform thorough assessments and implement plans of care effectively.
Qualifications:
Current Maine RN license or Compact RN license
Up-to-date nursing certifications, including BLS (required) and ACLS (preferred)
Immunizations validated for varicella, Hepatitis B, MMR, Tdap, PPD, and seasonal flu shot
Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, lift up to 30 lbs., and perform patient transfers
Proficient in nursing assessments, medication administration, documentation, and patient education
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
BSN preferred
Responsibilities:
Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments in the ER
Develop and implement nursing care plans based on physician orders and patient needs
Administer medications with attention to accuracy and patient response monitoring
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and participate in interdisciplinary care planning
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
Participate in hospital quality improvement and emergency preparedness programs
Assist with discharge planning and provide necessary patient and family education
Report safety or legal concerns promptly to nursing management
