What You'll Do as a Disaster Services Supervisor

• Determine priorities & time schedules; Conduct briefing with local applicants & public officials;

• Provide necessary written guidance for program;

• Coordinate with Administrators of state agencies, departments & federal agencies to ensure quality PA assistance is provided;

• Assign, schedule, & monitor projects to completion;

• Establish priorities & supervise subordinate personnel (e.g., provide developmental opportunities, coach staff to foster development, evaluate performance, interviews, approve section staffing levels, recommend discipline, checks time sheets, approves requests for leave & approves travel request);

OPTION 1:

Completion of undergraduate major core program in emergency management, natural resources, environmental science, community planning, public or business administration;

AND: 3 yrs. trg. or 3 yrs. exp. in disaster services or emergency operations;

AND: must be able to provide own transportation.

OPTION 2:

-Or 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in assigned program area (i.e., emergency management, natural resources, environmental science, community planning, public or business administration);

AND: 3 yrs. trg. or 3 yrs. exp. in disaster services or emergency operations;

AND: must be able to provide own transportation.

OPTION 3:

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Disaster Services Consultant 2, 64912;

AND: must be able to provide own transportation.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
