Asama Coldwater Manufacturing is seeking a Casting Assistant Manager to oversee daily foundry and metal casting operations.

This leadership role bridges executive strategy and floor-level execution—ensuring safety, production efficiency, quality standards, and cost control across casting operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong foundry experience, hands-on leadership, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a high-heat manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Operations LeadershipOversee daily metal casting and foundry operationsEnsure productivity, quality, and safety goals are met or exceededMaintain strong floor presence across shiftsManage production schedules, staffing, and workflow planningCoordinate movement of goods to support accurate inventory controlTeam Management & DevelopmentSupervise casting department leadership and staffHire, train, evaluate, and develop personnelManage schedules and assign responsibilitiesResolve personnel and operational challengesSafety & ComplianceEnforce OSHA, environmental, and company safety standardsEnsure proper PPE compliancePromote a culture of workplace safetyFinancial & Strategic OversightDevelop budgets and approve expendituresOptimize use of labor, materials, and equipmentAnalyze production and quality data to identify improvementsImplement cost-reduction and efficiency initiativesMaintenance & Process ImprovementCollaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliabilityTroubleshoot production and processing issuesRecommend facility or equipment modificationsLead process improvement initiatives to enhance output and reduce waste EducationBachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university) OR related equivalent experience Experience3–7 years of foundry or metal casting experiencePrior manufacturing leadership experience Technical KnowledgeStrong understanding of melting furnaces, sand systems, cranesFamiliarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office Leadership SkillsProven ability to manage teamsStrong analytical and data-driven decision-making skillsEffective communication across departmentsWork EnvironmentExposure to high heat, dust, and noise in a foundry settingFrequent climbing, lifting, and physical activityAbility to wear required PPE at all timesFlexible schedule to support emergency repairs or operational needs
