Senior DevOps & Platform Engineering Lead (Azure Terraform Enterprise Release Management) Location: Basel, Switzerland Employment Type: Full-time Language: English required About the Role Swiss Himmel GmbH is looking for a Senior DevOps & Platform Engineering Lead with 15+ years of experience to drive cloud transformation, platform engineering, and mission-critical release governance within a complex, regulated banking environment.

This is a senior leadership role combining hands-on engineering, production delivery ownership, DevOps strategy, and ITIL-based release governance . You will be responsible for building scalable Azure-based platforms, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and ensuring the successful delivery of regulatory and business-critical releases with zero disruption.

Your Responsibilities Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform across Azure environments Build and manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TeamCity Lead containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker, AKS, and Helm Own and govern Release, Change, and Incident Management in line with ITIL best practices Manage production deployments, hotfix releases, and regulatory delivery cycles Drive identity & access management, vulnerability management, patching, and compliance controls Implement monitoring and observability solutions using tools such as Geneos and Splunk Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver stable, audit-ready, and error-free enterprise releases Provide leadership across platform engineering, production support, and DevOps automation initiatives Your Profile 15+ years of IT experience, preferably within Banking or Financial Services Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure (AZ-400, AZ-104, AZ-900 or equivalent) Advanced experience with Terraform (modular design, remote state management, automated deployments) Proven track record in CI/CD implementation and DevOps transformation Deep knowledge of Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, and Helm Strong experience in production support, release governance, and regulatory delivery environments Solid understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise change management Excellent stakeholder management and cross-team coordination skills Nice to Have Experience building LLM-powered applications using Python, LangChain, OpenAI APIs, or RAG pipelines Exposure to Hadoop, Informatica, OBIEE, or Control-M Experience in highly regulated, audit-driven environments What We Offer Opportunity to lead enterprise-scale cloud and DevOps transformation initiatives High-impact role within mission-critical banking platforms A collaborative, international, and technology-driven environment Long-term growth and leadership opportunities within Swiss Himmel GmbH Job Type: 100% Work Location: In person
