About the Job
The Field Service Engineer II independently performs calibration and repair of dimensional metrology equipment and resolves most mechanical and system-level issues. This role supports installation, preventive maintenance, and service contract execution while expanding technical capability across multiple product families.
What You'll Do
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair dimensional metrology equipment
Perform mechanical, electrical, and basic software troubleshooting
Assist with installation, commissioning, and system validation
Perform software upgrades and configuration as required
Execute preventive maintenance and repair under service contracts
Prepare service plans including parts identification and readiness
Manage repair parts usage and ensure technical preparedness
Provide operator guidance and basic system training
Identify potential additional service needs and communicate findings
Expand capability across multiple product families
Progress toward advanced troubleshooting and installation qualification
Qualifications
Required:
3-6 years of field service or repair experience
Strong troubleshooting skills
Strong customer service skills
Ability to travel extensively (75%+)
Preferred:
Associate degree or equivalent technical experience
