QSSHire is partnering with a secure customer to identify a Software Engineer to support the development of mobile and geospatial applications supporting enterprise and operational environments.

This role is ideal for a developer experienced in mobile application development (Android/iOS), geospatial technologies (GIS), and modern DevOps practices including containerization and CI/CD automation.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, deploy, and maintain mobile and geospatial applications, helping translate operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.

In This Role, You’ll:

• Design and develop mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms.

• Apply strong knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) applications and services to support geospatial data integration and analysis.

• Work closely with customers to define functional requirements, concept of operations (CONOPS), and UI/UX design.

• Participate in Agile software development activities within small development teams.

• Manage iterative development releases and sprint cycles.

• Track development progress and sprint activities using JIRA.

• Manage source code repositories using GitHub and GitLab.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application build and deployment lifecycles.

• Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker across scalable environments.

• Develop and execute software test plans to ensure system functionality and reliability.

• Provide technical support and training to users and stakeholders.

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in geospatial technologies and mobile platforms.

• Work with customers to translate operational needs into technical requirements.

• Track program progress including risks, issues, and dependencies.

• Support technical meetings with vendors and engineering teams to communicate program requirements.

• Provide technical guidance on mobile hardware, Android/iOS operating systems, and software solutions including commercial, open source (FOSS), and government-developed software.

• Collaborate with enterprise teams to integrate geospatial data into enterprise web applications.

• Support cloud-based infrastructure and application integration using AWS services such as EC2 and S3.

You’ll Succeed Here If You Have:

• Demonstrated experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) applications and services.

• Experience developing mobile applications for Android and/or iOS platforms.

• Experience working with small development teams to manage software development activities.

• Experience collaborating with stakeholders to define functional requirements and UI/UX design.

• Experience managing iterative Agile development releases.

• Experience tracking development sprints using JIRA.

• Experience managing source code repositories using GitHub and GitLab.

• Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.

• Experience developing software test plans and validation processes.

• Strong background in software engineering and application development.

• Experience using development tools such as:

• Visual Studio Code

• Android Studio

• Xcode

• Node.js

• JavaScript

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience documenting processes and technical procedures.

• Experience with tool conceptualization and requirements design.

• Experience working across Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments.

• Understanding of emerging technology trends and modern software development practices.

• Experience supporting technical operations and enterprise systems.

• Advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
