Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

Location: Elkhart, IN

Pay: $19.90 per hour

Schedule Options: Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Position Summary

The Operating Technician is responsible for preparing, setting up, starting, and running thermoforming manufacturing equipment. This role plays a key part in ensuring parts meet quality specifications while maintaining productivity and safety standards.

Setup experience is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Operation

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot thermoforming equipment

Ensure efficient setup including tooling, materials, and production rates

Inspect machinery and tooling prior to startup

Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning

Identify and address nonconforming materials or productsQuality

Ensure parts meet established quality standards

Perform quality checks and documentation

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Maintain clean and organized work areaCommunication

Complete required production documentation

Provide clear shift hand-off updates to incoming team members

Communicate equipment or quality issues promptlySafety

Follow all established safety procedures

Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Participate in safety programs and continuous improvement initiativesMinimum Qualifications

At least 1 year of manufacturing experience

High School Diploma or GED

Machine setup experience required

Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English for safety and quality purposes

Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred Skills

Experience operating thermoforming or similar manufacturing equipment

Knowledge of quality control principles and SPC

Basic computer skills

Strong organization and time management skillsPhysical Requirements

Lift up to 10 lbs continuously

Lift 11-30 lbs regularly

Lift 31-50 lbs occasionally

Frequent standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting
