CVOR Tech in Northport, AL

Deliver specialized perioperative care as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Tech in a dynamic healthcare environment located in Northport, AL. This contract position offers an opportunity to work primarily Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3 pm, with participation in emergency on-call rotations every third week for a 7-day period. The role centers on supporting open heart surgeries, with involvement in other surgical specialties as needed, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique and adhering to nursing care standards.

Foster therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, ensuring compassionate care throughout surgical interventions.

Collaborate effectively with surgical team members, encouraging and supporting their contributions during procedures.

Participate in emergency on-call rotations to support urgent surgical cases.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a College Anatomy and Physiology I course or certification as a Central Sterile Processing Technician, or completion of a hospital-approved Surgical Tech certificate program.

AHA BLS or Red Cross certification required.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant Operating Room experience; candidates with 18 months experience may be considered if they have at least 1 year of recent experience in cardiovascular surgical specialty.
