Lead Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Lead Engineer to join a rapidly growing organization within the insurance and financial services technology industry for a hybrid permanent position based out of Durham, NC.

The Lead Engineer will guide development efforts, drive technical execution, and support multiple internal platforms leveraged across IT and business operations.

Responsibilities of the Lead Engineer include: * Architect and deliver end to end technical solutions across internal applications and cloud environments.

* Lead and mentor a blended team of onshore and offshore developers through design, development, and deployment phases.

* Oversee integration efforts and customization work for various enterprise SaaS platforms.

* Collaborate closely with cross department partners to translate business needs into actionable technical plans.

* Address production issues, conduct root cause reviews, and help ensure system stability and performance.

Qualifications for the Lead Software Engineer include: * Bachelor's degree in a technical or science related field.

* 5-8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong hands on skills in React, Node.js, and AWS.

* Background supporting internal corporate systems and working across IT and business groups.

* Prior experience guiding or mentoring development teams.

* Experience with integrations, API development, and cloud based applications.

Compensation for the Lead Software Engineer: Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000/year (USD) + 10% bonus + 7.5% LTI Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K This job opens for applications on 3/6/26.
