Job Description

Randstad is seeking a Sr. Systems Programmer to join a mission-critical team in Washington, DC. This role is designed for a technical heavyweight who excels in low-level development and thrives at the intersection of hardware and software. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle—from deep-tier system analysis to proposing high-level architectural designs—ensuring seamless integration across complex environments. This is a high-impact opportunity to leverage your mastery of Assembler and C/C++ to optimize core infrastructure and drive sophisticated system-wide solutions.

Key Responsibilities

System Analysis & Design: Conduct comprehensive technical analysis of existing frameworks and propose innovative design solutions to enhance system performance.

Low-Level Development: Develop, maintain, and optimize mission-critical code using Assembler, C, and C++.

System Integration: Lead substantial integration efforts, ensuring that disparate subsystems function as a cohesive, high-performance unit.

Architecture Evolution: Partner with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical blueprints.

Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose and resolve intricate system-level bottlenecks and performance issues within high-concurrency environments.

Qualifications

Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in Assembler, C, and C++ programming languages.

Architectural Experience: Demonstrated ability to perform system-level analysis and drive the design of complex software solutions.

Integration Background: Significant experience managing and executing large-scale system integrations.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset with a track record of solving "impossible" bugs at the kernel or hardware-interface level.

Professionalism: Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical trade-offs to both engineering teams and executive leadership.

Location: Ability to work on-site or in a hybrid capacity within the Washington, DC metro area.
