Licensed Psychiatric Technician - LPT

We are seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) to provide behavioural and psychiatric nursing care in a secure correctional healthcare environment. This role supports mentally or developmentally disabled patients/youth through clinical monitoring, medication administration, and collaborative treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide psychiatric and behavioural nursing care

- Monitor, assess, and report changes in mental status and behaviour

- Administer medications and treatments under RN/MD supervision

- Record vital signs and perform assigned nursing procedures

- Assist with treatment plans and therapeutic interventions

- Communicate effectively with custody and medical staff

- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

- Promote a safe and structured therapeutic environment

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 12 months of recent experience (within the last 3 years) in a similar role (public or private institution)

- Active and valid California LPT License

- Current BLS Certification

- Fluent in English (verbal and written communication)

- Ability to work safely within a secure healthcare facility
