Description:

Providing specialized perioperative nursing care during surgical procedures, this role demands expertise in the operating room environment to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care. The Registered Nurse will serve as a patient advocate and supervise assigned personnel while adhering to high standards of practice across all perioperative services.

Location: Boardman, Oregon

Responsibilities:

Plan, direct, and control perioperative nursing activities independently and with accountability

Ensure patient safety by protecting against injury from surgical instruments, equipment, and environmental hazards

Verify correct surgical site, side, and level; manage specimens in accordance with protocols

Administer medications safely and monitor patient vital systems (respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, etc.)

Deliver age-specific, culturally competent, ethical nursing care compliant with legal standards

Maintain surgical site infection prevention practices and uphold patient dignity and privacy

Document all nursing care precisely and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

Participate actively in required education, competency maintenance, and professional development

Support hospital mission and policies, including readiness for scheduled surgery unit on-call rotations

Assist in other qualified departments as needed

Qualifications:

Associate of Science in Nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred)

Current RN license in Oregon with BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; TNCC required

Preferred: CNOR, Peri-op 101 training, and CRASE certification if assignment extends beyond six months

Prior RN circulator or scrub experience preferred, but not mandatory

Ability to multitask efficiently, communicate compassionately, and demonstrate teamwork skills

Commitment to patient confidentiality and service excellence
