A nursing opportunity is available for an experienced RN with Stepdown unit expertise, specializing in cardiac care. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive nursing care to progressive level patients, including those with heart, lung, vascular conditions, and post-operative care from the OR and ICU. The 13-26 week contract position provides an engaging environment to apply your skills in a fast-paced medical intermediate care unit.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current RN licensure with at least 1 year of experience in a Stepdown or cardiac med intermediate care setting
Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
Proven experience with EPIC electronic medical records system (essential)
Skilled in managing lines, chest tubes, vasoactive drips, and complex patient conditions
Comfortable working nights with a patient ratio of 1:3-4
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
Ability to provide compassionate care to patients with a variety of progressive diagnoses, including sepsis, pneumonia, oncology, and cardiac conditions
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement nursing diagnoses, care plans, and nursing interventions tailored to patient needs
Monitor patients' conditions, administer medications, and perform wound care
Provide emotional and educational support to patients and their families
Document patient care accurately in compliance with professional and organizational standards
Maintain a safe care environment by adhering to infection control and medication safety protocols
Assist in emergency response recognizing adverse signs and symptoms quickly
Delegate appropriately to unlicensed personnel while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards
Schedule & Contract Details:
Night shift with 36 guaranteed hours/week, weekend rotations as needed
Up to 5 days off per 13-week assignment with potential for more subject to approval
Expected to work at least one major winter holiday
13 to 26 weeks contract duration
