An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Stepdown and Med Surg Overflow care. This role is based in Arlington, TN, offering a contract position at a prominent short-term acute care facility and Level I Trauma Center. Candidates must have at least two years of nursing experience, particularly in high-acuity and trauma settings, and be comfortable working night shifts under a 1:6 or 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Key Qualifications:
Valid RN license compliant with NLC guidelines (no pending licenses accepted)
Minimum 2 years of experience in Stepdown or Med Surg Overflow
Level I Trauma experience required; familiarity with large hospital systems preferred
Proven ability to manage care in a high-acuity environment
Experience with a 3x12-hour night shift schedule (19:00 - 07:00)
Willingness to work on-call and weekends as needed
Ability to adhere to a 100-mile radius rule; local candidates preferred
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring in the Stepdown unit
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
Maintain patient safety and comfort during overnight shifts
Respond effectively to emergencies and participate in trauma-related interventions
Document care delivery accurately and timely in electronic medical records
Participate in on-call rotations and weekend coverage as necessary
