Description:
Provide specialized nursing care in a Stepdown Unit setting with this 13-week contract opportunity located in Swansboro, NC. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care during night shifts, supporting stable patients who require close monitoring and critical care interventions. Ideal candidates will possess solid experience in progressive care or stepdown environments, contributing to patient recovery and safety through vigilant observation and effective clinical skills.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Registered Nurse with valid licensure.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in PCU or Stepdown nursing.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.
Ability to float within the scope of the unit needs.
Commitment to work every third weekend.
Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills.
Shift Details:
Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Three 12-hour shifts per week
No on-call responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Monitor patients transitioning from intensive care with close assessment of vital signs and interventions.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to implement patient care plans.
Document patient data accurately in the Meditech system.
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate nursing interventions.
Comply with all facility policies and healthcare regulations.

This opportunity is a contract position with a 50-mile radius preference for applicants, and local candidates outside the radius are ineligible.
