ABOUT THE JOB:
The Architect – Township & Social Infra Projects will lead the planning, design, and coordination of large-scale township masterplans and social infrastructure assets such as schools, healthcare facilities, community centres, public amenities, commercial clusters, and urban public spaces. The role demands strong conceptual design abilities, technical coordination, stakeholder management, and thorough understanding of statutory approvals and infrastructure planning.
The Architect will work closely with internal teams, external consultants, government bodies, contractors, and global design partners to deliver innovative, sustainable, and community centric designs.
A] Key Responsibilities
1. Master Planning & Concept Design
Develop masterplans for townships including residential zones, public amenities, green spaces, commercial blocks, and mobility networks.
Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, massing, and zoning layouts.
Integrate sustainability, pedestrian-friendly planning, and climate-responsive design principles.
2. Social Infrastructure Design
Prepare concept and detailed designs for social infrastructure components such as:
Schools
Hospitals / Clinics
Community centres
Sports facilities
Civic buildings
Parks, playgrounds, and public plazas
Ensure user-centric, functional, and inclusive design.
3. Detailed Design & Technical Coordination
Develop architectural drawings, design details, material specifications, and BOQs.
Coordinate with structural, MEP, landscape, urban planning, and infrastructure teams.
Review GFC drawings, shop drawings, and ensure design integrity during construction.
4. Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with internal departments (projects, planning, construction, procurement).
Work with consultants, authorities, urban planners, and contractors.
Present design concepts and updates to leadership teams and external stakeholders.
5. Statutory Compliance & Approvals
Ensure designs comply with building bye-laws, NBC, local zoning regulations, and environmental norms.
Prepare documentation for regulatory submissions, NOCs, and approvals.
Coordinate with government authorities and approval agencies.
6. Sustainability & Innovation
Integrate green building practices, energy-efficient design, and resource efficient materials.
Support certification processes such as IGBC, LEED, GRIHA, or equivalent.
Propose innovative design ideas, technologies, and digital tools.
7. Construction Support & Site Coordination
Provide design clarifications during execution.
Conduct site visits to ensure architectural quality and adherence to design intent.
Resolve on-site issues and support the construction team with timely guidance.
8. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain updated design documents, revisions, and change logs.
Prepare presentations, reports, and dashboards for management reviews.
Ensure clear communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
B] Key Skills & Competencies
Strong conceptual and master planning capability
Excellent design development and detailing skills
Knowledge of township planning, urban design, and infrastructure
Expertise in statutory codes & approval processes
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, MS Office
Strong stakeholder and consultant management
Ability to present design concepts to senior/global leaders
Understanding of sustainability standards and green building norms
Strong problem solving, visualization, and analytical skills
C] Qualifications & Experience
B.Arch / M.Arch from a recognized institution
7–20 years of experience in township planning, urban design, or large-scale social infrastructure projects
Experience working with multi-disciplinary design teams
Exposure to national or international design standards preferred
Experience with digital tools (BIM, GIS, visualization software) is an advantage
