In this role, you'll ensure our platforms operate seamlessly and efficiently for over 2 billion users around the globe. As a PE at Meta, you'll work alongside teams from various products such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus, as well as core backend services like Storage, Cache, and Networking. In Production Engineering, every day presents a unique set of technical challenges in a dynamic engineering environment.
Responsibilities:
Take ownership of back-end services, including fleet management and front-end applications like WhatsApp and Instagram, as well as the infrastructure components that drive Meta's AI initiatives.
Write and review high-quality code, create thorough documentation, and address complex debugging tasks in real-time across some of the largest systems worldwide.
Engage in an on-call rotation with your team and serve as an escalation point for service-related incidents.
Collaborate with top engineers on innovative projects; the code you write will have a direct impact on billions of users globally.
Minimum Qualifications:
6+ years of experience with *nix (Linux or UNIX-like OS) and a solid foundational understanding of networking concepts.
6+ years of professional coding experience with industry-standard programming languages (Java, Python, C++, PHP/Hack, Rust, Go).
Proven ability to swiftly learn new software, frameworks, and APIs.
Experience in capacity planning for internet service architecture and rapid resource scaling.
Familiarity with web technologies and internet service architectures such as LAMP/MEAN stacks, CDN, and load balancing techniques.
Proficient in configuring and managing infrastructure applications like Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS or MS in Computer Science.
Compensation:
$154,000/year to $217,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits.
