KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Engineer, Virtual Desktop Systems to become a key member of our Digital Nexus technology organization. This position offers a hybrid work opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the implementation, testing, and ongoing support of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure across various geographic locations and virtual desktop environments.

Collaborate with Virtualization Operations and Engineering teams to gather technical requirements and deploy necessary tools, configurations, and enhancements.

Conduct upgrades, configure changes, testing, and adjustments to the VDI environment to meet capacity, utilization, and performance specifications; monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues; engage in incident resolution and service restoration activities.

Support escalation efforts by actively participating in root cause analysis and contributing to preventive actions while aligning with established operational protocols; work closely with network, security, storage, and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration of VDI platforms within the broader infrastructure framework.

Help maintain configuration management, service provisioning, inventory management, and process automation for VDI operations while adhering to engineering standards, change management practices, and documentation protocols ensuring platform stability and compliance.

Stay updated on the latest VDI technologies, industry trends, and vendor developments to support continuous improvement initiatives; provide essential documentation and knowledge transfer to support teams as needed.

Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal accountability to foster a respectful and courteous work environment at KPMG.

Qualifications:

At least three years of recent experience in supporting and engineering Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, with a strong hands-on background in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), including architecture components and operational best practices.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.

Experience with both nonpersistent and persistent VDI environments, including image management; familiarity with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS) deployments.

Proven ability to troubleshoot complex VDI performance, availability, and connectivity challenges in enterprise settings; familiarity with IT service management processes such as incident, problem, and change management is preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to independently navigate complex technical issues; excellent collaboration and communication skills are essential for working with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.

Ability to adhere to established architectural frameworks while also offering improvement suggestions and technical feedback; experience in large-scale regulated or security-conscious enterprises is advantageous.
