High School CTE Auto Technology Teacher
Location: Lakeshore High School, Stevensville, MI 49127
QUALIFICATIONS:
Standard or professional Occupational Certificate CIP code 47.0604 OR
Eligible for Annual Career Authorization certificate -Achieved with 4000 hours of work experience in the Automotive Industry within the last ten years.
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification or ability to obtain certification:
An Automobile Technician Instructor must be certified in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Electrical (A6), and Maintenance and Light Repair (G1).
Master Automobile Technicians with A1-A8 are exempt from G1
Experience in high school classroom instruction
Ability to manage time and self-directed
High level of confidentiality and professionalism
Experience with at risk students
Patience to work with diverse populations and language barriers Valid Michigan Teaching Certification.
Ability to manage time and work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Enthusiastic, Energetic, Positive and Professional.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for planning, assessment, and instruction.
Implement curriculum according to the Michigan Common Core State Standards and district adopted curriculum.
Update CIP self-review and fulfill all State of Michigan CTE requirements annually
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Interpret and use data from ongoing assessments to inform instruction.
Participate in professional development and implement best practice.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve student achievement in the content areas.
