Akkodis is seeking a Teradata Admin for a Contract with a client in San Jose, CA. Candidates must have strong expertise in Teradata system administration to manage installations, optimize performance, and maintain robust backup and recovery processes .
Rate Range: $45/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Teradata Admin job responsibilities include:
Install, configure, and upgrade Teradata databases, utilities, and supporting components to ensure stable and optimized environments.
Manage user accounts, roles, and security profiles while enforcing access controls and compliance standards.
Perform routine backup, restore, and recovery operations to maintain data integrity and high availability.
Monitor system performance (CPU, I/O, space) and proactively address alerts, failures, and capacity issues.
Troubleshoot database problems, including connectivity errors, resource constraints, and failed workloads.
Optimize system and query performance through workload management, SQL tuning, and effective use of indexing, partitioning, and Teradata Workload Manager (TWM/TDWM).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
8-10 years of experience in database administration, with strong hands-on Teradata expertise.
Proficiency in Teradata system administration, including performance tuning, workload management (TWM/TDWM), and advanced security controls.
Strong scripting skills in Python or Shell, along with experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Pay Details: $45.00 to $49.00 per hour
